Roman Chariots Race in DuQuoin

Three Romans in full costume riding chariots pulled by two horses each were in Du Quoin for the Glenn Nicolls Memorial Miniature Horse and Shetland Pony Show the weekend of July 14th and 15th organized by Angie Foy.

The competition for the best chariot horses was part of the miniature horseshow and competition. The hand made chariots and costumes were very impressive.

Entered in the competition were Hal Bryant and Deb Bryant (red chariots) from Bryant's Miniatures, Norris City, Illinois and George (Bo) Step of Stepin High Miniatures, Paris, Illinois.

Cleopatra (Deb Bryant) won over Marc Anthony and Caesar.

Welcome

So this is post one of several (I assume).

Just came back from DuQuoin, Illinois and thought I would post some of the photos and a brief story of what's happened there this past weekend. It will take a few hours to get everything arranged...consider this your warning of things to come.

I hope you might find this blog interesting.
